The currency used in Seychelles is the Seychelles Rupee (SCR). However, it is important to note that since June 1, 2001, all tourist services must be paid in foreign currency such as the euro or the dollar. This measure concerns accommodation bills (all categories), expenses related to accommodation (transfers, excursions, car and boat rental over 6 meters, cruise fees, diving), as well as the exit tax of 40 USD. However, restaurant bills for meals taken outside the hotels as well as cab fares and incidental expenses can always be paid in Seychellois rupees.
Climate
The Seychelles is located in an area that is never affected by cyclones, as they pass lower down. There is no defined monsoon season in Seychelles, but January and February can be heavy and wet, with some rain at the end of the day. In July and August, winds can make the stay less pleasant on some coasts and disturb the sea bed. Temperatures are constant throughout the year and vary only one or two degrees from month to month. The period considered ideal for visiting the Seychelles is from March to July and from September to December.
