Discover the beauty of the Grenadine Islands aboard a catamaran specially designed for cruises in the warm waters of the Caribbean. The itinerary of the cruise will help you discover the jewels of this archipelago, from the wild bays to the small picturesque villages punctuated by Creole culture.

Martinique, on the other hand, is a small French island located in the Caribbean that offers many assets. It skillfully mixes sugar and rum, trade winds and hurricanes, volcanoes and lush vegetation, as well as memories of the sumptuous era and the heavy past of slavery.

However, it is not only the history and culture that attracts first-time visitors to Martinique. The island’s assets also include its tropical nature, sun and sea, which offer many activities such as water sports, diving, canyoning, short hikes and lazing around in the water. Moreover, Martinique is an easy island to explore as it can be crossed in just a few hours.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : Saturday - Le Marin / Union (17H)
Your Dream Grenadines catamaran will be waiting for you at the marina of Le Marin, in the south of the island, from 6 pm. The village of Le Marin is peaceful and shelters a deep bay lined with mangroves, reefs and islets, protected by a narrow isthmus which preserves it from winds and swell. It is the first marina in the Lesser Antilles and is the ideal gateway for cruises to the Grenadines. You will be welcomed aboard by the crew and settled into your cabin. You will then set off for an overnight sail to Union, along the coast of St. Lucia and St. Vincent.
DAY 2 : Sunday - Union
You will arrive at Union in the early afternoon, where you can discover Happy Island, a small island made of floating shells where you can have an aperitif with your feet in the water. You will also be able to visit Union, a small island of 7 km² with high and uneven terrain. Then enjoy dinner and night on board.
DAY 3 : Monday - Union / Mayreau (30 min)
You will depart to Mayreau Island, one of the jewels of the cruise. It is a small uninhabited archipelago made up of five islands surrounded by coral reefs, protecting a magnificent turquoise lagoon. You can admire exceptional marine wildlife while snorkelling or relaxing on one of the white sand beaches. Then barbecue on board or on a white sand beach in a postcard setting. Spend the night on board in the quietness of Mayreau.
DAY 4 : Tuesday - Mayreau / Tobago Cays (1h)
Early morning departure to the famous Tobago Cays, a group of islets, lagoons and reefs forming the most beautiful lagoon in the Grenadines. You will wake up in the heart of this nature reserve and explore the lagoon at your leisure. Enjoy the sandy beach for sunbathing and the many water activities available, such as snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. You can also go on an adventure on the desert island trails to discover the cactus, frangipani and endemic shrubs. You will have dinner and spend the night on board. You will have the opportunity to participate in optional excursions, such as a visit to Petit Tabac Islet by local boat, where Jack Sparrow was abandoned with the beautiful Elizabeth (approximately 2 hours). In the evening, a BBQ on the beach is planned, with an aperitif followed by a dinner of lobsters (depending on the season) or lambis and fish.
DAY 5 : Wednesday - Tobago Cays / Bequia (3h30)
After breakfast, you will head to Bequia, the first of the Grenadine islands, and stop in Admiralty Bay. While the skipper takes care of the formalities, you can enjoy the anchorage to relax, swim and enjoy water activities such as snorkelling, kayaking or paddling. The town of Port Elizabeth, the capital of Bequia, is a charming and lively little town where the bars proudly display the portrait of the Queen of England as a sign of attachment to the colonial power of yesteryear. You will enjoy lunch on board before exploring the island in the afternoon. You will spend the evening and the night on board.
DAY 6 : Thursday - Bequia / Cumberland (2h30)
After breakfast, you will set sail for Saint Vincent, a volcanic island covered with lush vegetation. You will stop at Cumberland, a grey sand beach bordered by a large coconut grove extending to the hill. The seafloor is steep, which offers a magnificent spectacle. One option on how to spend your day is taking part in a minibus ride with a driver-guide to discover a typical village, take a panoramic road along the Caribbean coast, and then walk to a waterfall where you can bathe in fresh water after crossing a "very local" suspension bridge (about 2h30). You will return to the boat for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 : Friday - Cumberland / Saint Anne (Martinique) (9H)
At sunrise, you will leave for Martinique. You can have your breakfast on board. At the end of the afternoon, you can enjoy the village or the beach.
DAY 8 : Saturday - Saint Anne / Marin (30min)
Wake up early to enjoy breakfast on board before starting the short sail to the Port of Le Marin. You will reach the marina around 10:00 am, ready to disembark and conclude this beautiful adventure in the Grenadines.

Your boat :

  • Accommodation in an air-conditioned double cabin with private bathroom (air conditioning is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
  • Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner), drinks with meals (house wine and water) and local aperitifs.
  • You will also benefit from the service of the crew consisting of two people (captain, steward/cook), two sets of sheets and towels, including beach towels, as well as consumables for the boat : water, gasoline and fuel).
  • Boat and passenger insurance is also included in the price.
  • Water sports equipment such as snorkeling equipment (fins, mask and snorkel), paddle and sea kayaking are also available on board.

Formalities

French passengers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date. Boarding will be refused to people arriving with a simple identity card. Foreign nationals are invited to check with their embassy about the regulations in force (visas required or not) according to their nationality. It is recommended to check with the Embassy of Saint Lucia, as a visa is required before departure.

The currency is the Euro and checks are generally not accepted. It is customary to leave a tip of 10 – 15% of the bill

Climate

The West Indies enjoy a mild tropical climate with an average temperature ranging from 24°C to 28°C throughout the year. The rainy season is during the summer months, but the sun is always present.

Time difference

The time difference is 5 hours behind in winter and 6 hours behind in summer compared to France.

Health

Martinique, a region of France, follows the same health regulations as France. It is recommended to be up to date with universal vaccinations such as diphtheria, tetanus, polio and hepatitis B, as well as hepatitis A if necessary.

The electricity voltage is 220 V and the frequency is 50 Hz

Although the majority of Martiniquais are catholic, other religions are also present on the island

Activities

Martinique is an ideal destination for those who love relaxation and sports. With warm waters perfect for swimming, diving and water sports, as well as a variety of landscapes that invite hiking, mountain biking and canyoning, there is something for everyone. Among the most popular hikes, the one leading from Grand-Rivière to Prêcheur and Mount Pelee is particularly popular among hikers. Cockfighting is also very popular among the Martinican people. The city of Fort-de-France is also full of exceptional sites to visit, such as the St Louis Cathedral, the Schoelcher Library and its parks.

Celebrations and festivals

The Martinique Carnival, which takes place in February-March, is the most festive time of the year. The atmosphere is electric and the island vibrates to the sound of wild music. On May 8, in Saint-Pierre, a commemoration is organized in memory of the eruption of Mount Pelee. It is punctuated with cultural and musical events.
